havent updated in a while. dont take it personal (the 2 of you who actually still stop by once in a while) but twitter is so much easier to update/manage/link photos to, etc. so this blog has suffered. life at camp is also not conducive for spending many hours online. just not possible (or likely).

lifest is coming! im an "official" photog again this year. i will post some pix on flickr but since i sign the rights away to life!promotions, the amount i can share will be limited.

easiest way to keep in touch with me is facebook (dumb yes, but everyone else is doing it) and twitter (way cooler than anything else online).

saw crowder a couple nights ago and the concert was pretty sick! that was crowder concert #8 and easily one of the top 5 funnest(is that even a word?) nights ever.

HELLO LOVE

a couple friends and i ventured to grand rapids (got there 30 mins late!) through the nasty snow storm to see isreal houghton (ended up missing most of him) and chris tomlin. my tomlin concert tally is now currently 13... and i may venture to say that i think 14 will be in a couple of hours (when in rome right?)
our seats were crapy, so at intermission we made our move for some upgrades and went to the side section and scored some 2nd row seats (thank you whoever didnt show up). we were just a tab bit too far away to get some really high quality pix, but i will settle for what i did end up getting.
chris is sick. he said at the beginning he wasnt doing so hot, but dang, you would never have known cuz he still sounded like gravy. he told some pretty funny stories about UGANDA HAS DISTORTION!! and passion - holla all my passion peeps! only a few of us cheered when he said passion and he was very surprised by that - most places he only heard crickets. how can you go see chris tomlin and not know about passion? its like peanut butter and jelly. they just go together!

goodbye my old friend

last week my passion:atlanta wristband fell off. no biggie right? WRONG! ive had that sucker on since april 12!! it started out all nice and orange and not ripped and soft. at the end it was hard, crackly, extremely faded, all the edges were separated, and there were tons of rips on the edges. the rip that broke the camels back was right by the clasp on the inside (pictured below). i just knew it wasnt going to make it another day in my line of work so i snapped some photos to remember the day, and to remember my old companion for the past 6 months.

my goal was the keep it on til oct. 12... which is when passion: tokoyo starts... which was our prayer city printed on the inside. i almost made it! just 3 weeks shy! but there will not be any less prayers going their way.

anyone else still have theirs on???

lifelight music festival 2008

it was a great weekend to say the least! one of the best lineups at any festival ive been to this year, with bands like switchfoot, matthew west, building 429, lincoln brewster, VOTA, leeland, michael w. smith, sanctus real, phil joel, natalie grant & casting crowns.
i was fortunate enough to be able to speak briefly with allen and vicky greene (founders of lifelight) when i was backstage helping to run the m&g. we found out last year that they actually live in the house that i grew up in!! small world eh? they were super nice and that solidified for me that lifelight is one of the top places to be in the summer. hands down.

third day on the third (fourth) day

its a day late, but i dont care :)

i went to the indy music builds tour show - and of course it was face melting because 1. third day was there, 2. switchfoot was there, and 3. the humidity was easily 120%.
it was my 15th third day concert and it ranked in the top 5 of most memorable. a funny moment seared into my mind was when mac grabbed his mic and was walking over towards mr. lee, and tai ventured over to mac's area, got right up to his mic stand and started to sing - then quickly realized that the mic wasnt there, gave a the "deer in the headlights" look and walked back to his spot. i dont think many people (if any) saw that go on, since all the attention was on mac, but i had a good chuckle after that :)

i also went to the concert with some co-workers, who are new gomers, and they had a total blast; not only did we have pretty good seats, but we were all able to partake in a great m&g after the show. the lovely gentleman (i think his name was mike?) did a fab job efficiently getting people through the m&g line while not being overly pushy or mean (which happens very frequently at m&gs). all the guys signed some photos i had printed out and posed for a RI-diculous shot with us - i have too many regular pix so i thought id throw a curve ball and see if they would swing... well, tai.... hmmm. maybe next time eh?

since we had so much fun, we are gonna hit the cleveland show on the 11th. we are gonna go the bleacher seat route though (much cheeper!).

anyways... check out the (sparse) photos i took from the show here. i had a sour moment when they wouldnt let me take my nice camera into the venue, so i really hope that doesnt happen again in cleveland. it would be the coolest if someone from third day (i dont know, say, maybe mark??) would read this and hook me up :)

what do you get when you cross ADD with limited internet access? you get nothing. exactly. and that is precisely why i dont have the world pulse photos up yet. once i get motivated to edit, then they will magically appear. until then, hang in there champ!

in 2 more days im seeing the music builds tour, then over labor day i will be heading to the homeland for lifelight... so lots of photos for your viewing pleasure will be heading this way in the future, soon or distant is anyones guess though.
